The Tradition Continues

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 21, 2012

SECOND GENERATION IRON DOG TEAM
Hatcher Pass Polaris proud to sponsor Team 20: Faeo Family Tradition

Hatcher Pass Polaris

Those familiar with the Iron Dog race might recognize this team number from the seven-time Iron Dog race winner John Faeo, Sr. Following family tradition, his sons John Faeo, Jr. & Scott Faeo are teaming up together as a rookie team and will proudly wear the Faeo Team #20 bib. Hatcher Pass Polaris is proud to support Team 20 in this year’s Iron Dog.

This rookie team is one to keep an eye on. John Faeo, Jr. and Scott Faeo, sons of legendary John Faeo, Sr., the winningest racer in Iron Dog History will be running the Polaris 600 Indy. With the insight and knowledge brought on board from their father they will be a team to watch. Although this is their first time to run the Iron Dog, both Scott and John Jr. have been riding and racing snowmobiles all of their lives. They have been preparing themselves to take on the World’s Longest, Toughest Snowmobile Race for as long as they can remember.

Some of Scott’s racing accomplishments:

  • 2011 Cross Country Pro Class overall points champion
  • 2011 First place Big Lake Larry Heal Memorial 150 mile
  • 2011 Third place Eureka 100 mile
  • 2011 Second place Big Lake 150 mile
  • 2012 First place Big Lake 150 mile
  • 2012 Third place Valdez Mayors Cup 200 mile
  • Some of John Jr.’s racing accomplishments:
    • Pro Class – K150 cross country 1st Place
    • Pro Class – K150 cross country 3rd Place
    • Pro Class – K150 cross country 4th Place
    • Pro Class – Mayors Cup 200 cross country

The brothers are both IBEW members; John Jr. is a wireman foreman for New Horizons Electric, while Scott is a wireman foreman for Yukon Electric, and both live at the heart of Alaska in Wasilla.

Keep an eye out for Team 20 in this year’s Iron Dog.

LET THEM BUILD THERE OWN REP, DON’T MAKE A BIG STINK ON THERE DADS HISTORY! THESE GUYS NEVER DID ANYTHING IN THE IRONDOG AN THERE GETTING MORE NEWS THEN A TWO TIME CHAMP OF THE RACE.

They will have to earn it, no doubt about that. The story is intended to highlight the “generations” of Iron Dog family and celebrate some of the 30 year history and new beginnings.
