Anchorage, Alaska (AK) – The 2014 Iron Dog, presented by the Alaska National Guard, is scheduled to start on February 16, 2014 in Big Lake, Alaska. The course distance is over 2,000 miles, starting in Big Lake with a halfway stop in Nome and finishing in Fairbanks, making it the World’s longest and toughest snowmobile race. There will be 110 snow machines on the trail this year, the highest number of entries to date. The first place team is expected to arrive on the Chena River in downtown Fairbanks at approximately 12pm on Saturday, February 22.
