2013 Anchorage Teacher
My Name is April Frame and I was born in Fairbanks Alaska. I don’t have many memories from Fairbanks because at the age of three I moved to Virginia where I spent most of my childhood. I attended college in New Hampshire and Colorado and graduated with a degree in Film/Video production. I moved back to Alaska in 2007. I now live with my husband Clayton, and my dog Hank, in Anchorage.
When I was nineteen I studied at the University of Dunedin in New Zealand. While I was there I decided to try “River boarding” which is essentially swimming down class three and four river rapids on a bodyboard. I had a great time but gave myself quite a scare when one rapid sucked me under and I was held for several seconds beneath the surface. Luckily, the rapid spit me out and one of the river guides was able to assist me to safety. That was an adventure I’ll never forget!
I spend my free time making movies! I love working with my friends on independent films. I also enjoy painting, hiking, camping, photography, reading, game nights with friends and walks with my dog.
